Safe and Nurturing Environment

All of our programs are designed to provide a safe environment in which children can learn, relax, thrive and have fun.  We are not a school-within-a-school; rather, we try to make our space a home-away-from-home.

Rich Selection of Activities

Our children choose from a variety of teacher-led and child-initiated activities.  The daily schedule reflects the needs of the various age groups and provides ample opportunity for homework time, active play and relaxed time in which our children choose from several different activities.  To keep the program fresh and exciting, program wide themes are planned on a monthly basis and incorporated into the activities along with special events or guest speakers.  Daily activities are planned in advance and incorporate science, literacy, arts and cooking.  Additionally, vigorous and age appropriate gym games are offered which vary from traditional sports to inventive cooperative games.

Opportunities to Learn Social Responsibility

In addition to providing a safe and fun environment, NEDP is committed to helping our children learn to be responsible community members by offering many opportunities to give back to the larger Needham community.  Each of our staff is trained in the Responsive Classroom® method, which enables us to reinforce the social lessons learned in Needham classrooms in our before and after school programs.
